Overview

The City of Romulus Ordinance department is responsible for enforcing many City Ordinances. The Ordinance department processes fingerprints for licensing of entertainers, transient merchants, and ice cream vendors in addition to vehicle inspections for Ice Cream Trucks. The Ordinance department processes hundreds of applicants yearly.

Ordinance Enforcement

The Ordinance Department enforces many ordinances in the City including:

  • Commercial Vehicles
  • Garbage and Refuse
  • Illegal Dumping
  • Inoperable and Abandon vehicles
  • Lawn Parking
  • Noxious Weeds
  • Stagnant Water
  • Unkempt Premises
  • Unlicensed Garage sale

The Ordinance Department periodically assists different departments, including Animal Control, Building, Public Works, Public Safety, and Fire Departments.

Depending on the violation, a warning letter or written warning may be issued to the owner. Failure to comply or failure to correct the violation could result in a citation being issued and might require a court appearance.
