Qualified Romulus residents interested in running for election to City Office may visit the City Clerk's Office to obtain the required petitions, Affidavit of Identity, and Statement of Candidacy.
In accordance with the Romulus City Charter, all petitions must contain at least 100 signatures and no more than 200 signatures from registered Romulus voters.
For information regarding Campaign Finance, candidates must contact Wayne County Campaign Finance.
Campaign Finance instructions, forms, and other information are also available through the Michigan Bureau of Elections.
The City of Romulus will be holding its City General Election for the Office of Mayor, City Clerk, Treasurer, and City Council on November 2, 2021. If necessary, the City Primary Election will be held on August 3, 2021.
