The Romulus Arts Council is looking for “fall season ART” for the Annual Romulus Pumpkin Festival digital guide. Every year the winners of the student art contest will have their art displayed in the annual festival guide book. C ash prizes have been awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Our first place winner will receive $200, second place will receive $150, third place will two honorable mentions which will receive $50 each.
All students, regardless of the school they attend, and are Romulus residents are eligible students from pre-school thru grade 12 to submit art to us and Anniversary Pumpkin Festival”, the best one yet!
1. The art must have a fall/pumpkin theme. Please pay attention to the composition. (Please, No Halloween themes)
2. Do not include any wording on the artwork.
3. Pictures should be no smaller than 8 1/2 by 11 or larger than 11 x 17 inches.
4. Art must be portrait oriented NOT landscape oriented
5. Bright colors are preferred in acrylic, watercolor, tempera or pastels. Crayons and colored pencils do not have the vibrancy of the other mediums so please try not to use these.
6. Your name, age, school and your contact information should be on the back of your art.
All interested participants should submit their artwork to the Economic Development Department, located in the Romulus City Hall, 11111 Wayne Road, Romulus, MI 48174, by August 1st for this year’s festival. Art becomes the property of the Romulus Arts Council. Winners will be announced at the Festival. Art is framed and displayed at the festival and the prizes will be available at the hospitality tent.
